FAQs

Shipping

We ship Australia-wide, utilizing Australia Post for small parcels and private contractors for larger items depending on your delivery area. Orders are typically dispatched within 1-2 business days from our Safety Bay workshop. Please note that for PO Boxes or remote regional towns, carrier coverage can sometimes be limited, and we cannot always guarantee standard delivery outcomes. If your address falls into a hard-to-reach area, we will contact you directly to discuss the available options and find a suitable workaround.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes, we ship internationally! Because freight costs and import duties vary greatly depending on the destination, international orders are handled manually to ensure we get you the most accurate rate.

If you see something you'd like to order, please send us an email to sales@oldmanblue.com.au or use our contact form and include:

  • The items you are after

  • Your full name

  • Your phone number

  • Your complete delivery address

Once we have your details, we will get a custom freight quote from the post office and contact the appropriate bodies to work out any applicable duties or taxes for your region.

Note for international customers: You are exempt from paying our local 10% GST (Goods and Services Tax). This 10% saving will be applied to your order, which is very helpful towards covering your international freight costs!

What is the SeaSac?

The SeaSac is the ultimate catch bag for anything you harvest from the ocean. Handmade in Western Australia by divers, for divers, it is built tough using marine-grade 316 stainless steel and strong, low-drag netting. The bag features a large holding capacity, an efficient one-way entry system to secure your catch, and a quick-release pull tie for easy emptying. Complete with a convenient handling lanyard and shark clips to attach directly to your float, the SeaSac is designed to be quick, easy, and efficient in the water.

What makes the SeaSac better than the rest?

Unlike standard catch bags on the market that act like sea anchors and create heavy drag, the SeaSac is specifically designed to minimize drag, making it much easier to handle in the water. Feedback from divers—including numerous reviews from the annual Rottnest Island Crayfish Competition—highlights that our design breaks fewer legs on your catch and makes emptying incredibly easy thanks to the quick-release system. Most importantly, it’s built for extreme durability. The SeaSac isn't a throwaway item made for just a year or two; with proper care, it's a piece of gear that can last for decades

What makes your cray / lobster loops better than what's already out there?

We fabricate our loops right here in WA using only premium materials: 316 marine-grade stainless steel and heavy-duty 7x19 stainless steel wire rope. Every loop is hand-assembled and TIG welded in-house for maximum strength. A crucial difference is the 90-degree right-angle bend, which allows you to easily slip the loop right behind the cray in tight ledges. Combine that with a perfectly smooth sliding action, and another big point of difference: a custom-made spring that delivers exceptional holding power. This holds the cray securely while you concentrate on getting yourself out of a tight or hard-to-reach area, meaning you can come up with ease knowing your catch is locked in. While nothing is bulletproof, this system works exceptionally well, and our loops are built to withstand the harshest reef environments.

What happens if my Old Man Blue gear breaks?

First, we recommend checking out our YouTube tutorials. This is the best place to learn how to fix basic, minor issues yourself so your loop, SeaSac, or other gear works again. If the tutorial doesn't solve the problem, please contact us directly and we will help you from there. If your issue is with Rabitech gear, you can review the specific warranty policy on our website.

Whatever the issue might be, always feel free to reach out—we stand by our products and would like to help! However, please note that we cannot cover damage caused by mistreatment, abuse, or inappropriate use. We pride ourselves on being fair and reasonable guys, but we cannot take responsibility for gear that has been explicitly neglected or misused.
